A sandbar spanning a bay whose name can be translated as "The Floating Bridge of Heaven". One of Japan's three great scenic views (the others being 松島 and 宮島).

Alan Booth walked across it and was entertained by the sight of Japanese tourists going through the motions of the obligatory ritual of standing with their backs to the bay, bending down and viewing the scene upside down through their legs.
