On Annie's 100th birthday in 1997 her youngest daughter Anna and her husband Bill wrote a 15 page "This is your life" consisting of 1 title page, 6 pages of mainly text (with small images), 7 pages of pictures and 1 page with a family tree. The following bullet points are a summary of the text.

- 4th child of Mary Jane and Hugh Finnegan, a farmer.
- Grew up on a farm in a large family (7 sisters, 3 brothers).
- Educated at Kirkiston Primary School, head master Mr McQuitty.
- Often late for class as there were always younger siblings to look after.
- Liked going to church and worshipped at Cloughey Presbyterian church.
- Sang in the choir from age 11.
- "Gave life to the Lord" at age 21 and thereafter "followed in his ways".
- Was bridesmaid at older sister Hessie's wedding to John McKitterick in 1922.

- First of your five children born in 1924. Two of the other four (Joeseph and Mary) did not live beyond 2 years.
- One of the first families in Greyabbey to acquire a TV, installed by future son-in-law Sam Wilson.
- Many family members and friends watched the queen's coronation on it in 1953.
- Daughter Sadie (Sarah Jane) married Sam Wilson in 1953.
- Sold farm and moved to Rockcullen, Newtonards in 1955, but still kept hens, pigs, two greenhouses and a cow.
- Other hobbies were knitting, embroidery and crotcheting.
- Daughter Isobel married Ian McKee in July 1960 and went to live in Scotland.
- In 1961 moved to Strand Park in Ballywalter and got involved with the church there.
- Youngest daughter Anna married Jim White in August 1963.
- Husband Joe became ill and died 7 December 1964.
- Moved back to Newtonards to live with Anna and her husband.
- Continued to live with Anna after she and Jim divorced and Anna married Bill Langtry in 1985.
- Has 3 daughters and 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
According to some, Annie was a formidable presence, mainly due to her strong religious convictions. She also had a well developed bust (which "entered the room before she did"). Some of her daughters smoked but never in her presence.
