Starring Colin Firth and Toni Collette. Based on the real life trial of Michael_Peterson, an author, who was accused of murdering his 2nd wife Kathleen who had been found dead at the bottom of a staircase. Complicating factors were (a) while running for office he had lied about decorations received for service in Vietnam, (b) he had been leading a secret gay life, and (c) his first wife had also died at the bottom of a staircase (though at the time it had been treated as an accident).
